AC Cars

Founded in 1901, AC Cars is one of Britain's oldest surviving car manufacturers, with a history stretching from early lightweight vehicles to some of the most recognisable sports cars ever built. Its reputation was transformed by the AC Ace of the 1950s and, subsequently, the legendary Cobra, which combined British chassis engineering with powerful American V8 engines to create an enduring performance-car icon.

Today, AC Cars is developing an unusually ambitious range of hand-built sports cars that blend traditional design with modern engineering.

The new Cobra GT Roadster and Coupe reinterpret its most famous model using carbon-fibre bodywork, bespoke aluminium chassis construction and powerful V8 engines, while the revived Ace and Ace Bristol offer a lighter, more traditional driving experience with petrol or electric power. Production remains highly specialised, with British customers able to order directly through the manufacturer.

The Ace Bristol Classic shares its engineering with the standard Ace but recreates the distinctive smiling front end of the earlier 1950s model. Its traditional proportions, wire wheels and carefully sculpted carbon-fibre bodywork make it particularly appealing to enthusiasts who favour historic sports car styling. Its 5.0-litre V8 produces approximately 454bhp in naturally aspirated form or up to 654bhp with a supercharger, driving the rear wheels through a six-speed manual or ten-speed automatic gearbox.

Power comes from a 5.0-litre V8 producing approximately 459bhp in naturally aspirated form or 710bhp with a supercharger, while a limited Clubsport Edition increases output to around 788bhp.
