Volkswagen Guide
Volkswagen continues to offer one of the broadest ranges in the mainstream market, covering compact hatchbacks, family cars, SUVs, electric models, people carriers and pick-ups.
The range is also undergoing another major transition. The new ID. Polo brings electric power into the supermini class, while the redesigned ID.3 Neo moves Volkswagen's dedicated electric hatchback into a new generation. Petrol, mild-hybrid, plug-in hybrid and diesel models remain important elsewhere, ensuring buyers still have an unusually broad choice of powertrains.

It also provides an important bridge in Volkswagen's range until its next generation of electric SUVs arrives.
Volkswagen ID.5 (22-)![]() | RRP From : £35,495 Powertrains : EV Key rivals : Ford Capri, Hyundai Ioniq 5, Nissan Ariya, Peugeot E-3008, Toyota bZ4X |
The ID.5 takes the ID.4 formula in a more style-led direction, adding a coupé-SUV roofline without sacrificing much of the practicality underneath. Its 549L boot is actually slightly larger than the ID.4's, while similar electric hardware keeps range and performance competitive. It remains a useful part of Volkswagen's electric range while the brand transitions towards its next generation of SUVs.

The Passat is a refreshingly traditional alternative to the increasingly SUV-heavy large-car market. Closely related to the Škoda Superb, it offers excellent passenger space, a large boot and strong long-distance comfort. Heavy early depreciation also makes used examples considerably more attractive than their relatively high list prices suggest.
Volkswagen Caddy (20-)![]() | RRP From : £37,171 Powertrains : Petrol, Diesel Key rivals : Ford Tourneo Connect, Mercedes-Benz Citan Tourer, Peugeot Rifter, Renault Kangoo, Toyota Proace City Verso |
The Caddy shares much of its engineering with the Ford Transit Connect, helping Volkswagen reduce development costs while retaining its own character. Volkswagen ID. Buzz (22-)![]() | RRP From : £60,005 Powertrains : EV Key rivals : Ford Tourneo Custom, Kia PV5, Peugeot E-Traveller, Toyota Proace Verso Electric, Vauxhall Vivaro Life Electric |
The ID. Buzz takes a more style-led approach than most large electric people carriers, combining distinctive retro-inspired design with genuinely useful interior space. Volkswagen Amarok (23-)![]() | RRP From : £48,140 + VAT Powertrains : Diesel Key rivals : Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, KGM Musso, Maxus T90 EV, Toyota Hilux |
The Amarok is closely related to the Ford Ranger, combining proven pick-up foundations with Volkswagen’s own styling and interior treatment.
