Scania Buses & Coaches

Scania Fencer
Developed jointly by Scania and Higer, the Fencer is a modern low-floor single-deck bus designed for urban, suburban and regional passenger services. Offered in approximately 10.8- and 12.2-metre lengths, it combines accessible boarding with flexible seating and standing accommodation. Diesel versions use Scania's seven- and nine-litre engines, with compatibility for renewable HVO fuel, while a fully electric drivetrain is also advertised within the British range. The electric version offers 264kWh or 330kWh batteries and rapid charging, making it suitable for routes with predictable operating schedules. Modern driver assistance, independent front suspension and a spacious passenger interior help the Fencer compete with established British single-deck buses.

Scania Touring (2026 Generation)
Unveiled in October 2026, the new-generation Touring represents a substantial update to Scania's long-distance coach. Its redesigned exterior introduces improved aerodynamics, distinctive LED lighting and optional digital mirrors, while the modernised interior brings greater passenger comfort and significantly more luggage space. Scania's latest 11- and 13-litre Super diesel engines offer outputs reaching 500hp, with improved efficiency and serviceability compared with older powertrains. Redesigned overhead racks provide around 40% more storage, while underfloor luggage capacity can increase by up to 14.5% in comparable three-axle versions. Available in right-hand-drive configurations, the Touring remains Scania's principal complete coach for British private hire, tourism and longer-distance passenger services.

Important Information
Prices, specifications, dimensions, seating capacities, weights, power outputs and equipment are based primarily on information published by vehicle manufacturers, their official UK representatives and established specialist coachbuilders. Specifications can vary by chassis, body length, drivetrain, configuration, model year and individual vehicle. Where vehicles are constructed by third-party coachbuilders, technical details and equipment may vary substantially between operators.
Prices shown are UK prices where available and are intended as a guide. Where an official UK list price is unavailable, pricing is shown as POA. Published dealer-stock prices are examples for individual vehicles and should not be interpreted as manufacturer list prices or guaranteed availability. Prices may exclude VAT, optional equipment, delivery charges and operator-specific conversions.
Scania manufactures complete buses and coaches alongside supplying chassis to independent coachbuilders. Beulas and MOBIpeople models featured here refer specifically to vehicles offered with Scania chassis through British suppliers. These should not be confused with equivalent bodies constructed on MAN or other manufacturers' chassis. Scania-powered Irizar coaches are covered separately within The New Yardstick's Irizar guide.
Only models advertised through current British manufacturer or distributor channels are included. Individual drivetrains, right-hand-drive specifications, model updates and delivery dates may require confirmation with the supplying company. Appearance on a UK manufacturer website does not guarantee immediate stock or confirmed delivery schedules.
Passenger seating capacities must not be confused with total passenger capacities. City buses can accommodate standing passengers, while wheelchair spaces, luggage facilities, onboard toilets and executive interiors may affect the number of approved passenger seats. Maximum capacities refer to selected configurations rather than every vehicle in the range.
Licence categories shown are a general guide only. Individual driving entitlement can vary according to passenger-seat count, vehicle weight, vehicle length, licence issue date, grandfather rights, Section 19 operation and other exemptions. Passenger-seat counts used for licence purposes exclude the driver. Always check the vehicle's plated specification and your own driving-licence entitlement before driving.
Electric battery capacities, charging rates and energy consumption are manufacturer figures and may vary with vehicle specification. Real-world electric range depends on passenger load, operating speed, temperature, climate control, battery condition and route characteristics. Maximum charging power is not necessarily maintained throughout a charging session.
Specifications are checked against the latest information reasonably available to The New Yardstick at the time of publication or update. Manufacturers, chassis suppliers and coachbuilders may alter specifications, prices or availability without notice.
