Ultima Guide

Ultima is one of Britain's most uncompromising specialist sports car names, best known for producing extraordinarily lightweight, mid-engined machines with immense V8 performance. Rather than following conventional supercar manufacturers, the company developed its cars around a spaceframe chassis, driver-focused engineering and the option of customer assembly.

Its latest design, the RS, combines Le Mans-inspired styling with a choice of Chevrolet V8 engines and performance extending well beyond that of many considerably more expensive supercars.

Ultima entered a new chapter in August 2026 when American company Peregryn acquired the brand's intellectual property, rights and tooling. Existing UK orders remain in progress, but future production is planned in the United States from 2027. Consequently, new UK pricing and availability should be confirmed directly with the new manufacturer rather than assumed from historical UK kit prices.

The RS is an exceptionally lightweight two-seat supercar with a mid-mounted Chevrolet V8, rear-wheel drive and a six-speed manual transaxle. Engine choice and specification vary between builds, with outputs ranging from roughly 480bhp to as much as 1,200bhp in highly tuned versions. Weighing around 930kg in lightweight specification, it places acceleration, cornering ability and direct driver involvement ahead of everyday practicality. UK examples are exceptionally rare, and their prices vary significantly according to engine, assembly quality and equipment.

Specifications, dimensions and prices were correct at the time of the latest update. Recommended retail prices are official UK list prices, while pre-registered and used values are approximate UK market figures and may vary depending on specification, mileage, condition and location. Recommended retail prices include any applicable UK Government electric vehicle grant where available but exclude dealer discounts, manufacturer incentives and other retail offers.

Dimensions quote vehicle width excluding exterior mirrors unless otherwise stated. Boot capacities are measured or quoted up to the parcel shelf/load cover where applicable, rather than to the roof. For seven-seat vehicles, the listed boot capacity refers to space behind the third row with all seats in use unless otherwise stated.

Power outputs are quoted in bhp, with manufacturers' kW, PS or CV figures converted where necessary. Electric driving ranges use WLTP combined figures where available.
