Rolls-Royce Guide
Rolls-Royce traces its origins to the partnership between Charles Rolls and Henry Royce in 1904. Today its cars are built at Goodwood in West Sussex, under BMW Group ownership, with an emphasis on quiet progress, craftsmanship and extensive personalisation.
The UK range spans the Cullinan SUV, electric Spectre coupe and the Ghost and Phantom saloons. Black Badge versions add a more assertive character, while extended-wheelbase saloons prioritise rear-seat space. Buyers commission cars through specialist retailers, so individual specifications can vary enormously.
Current Models
Cullinan (18-)![]() Photo: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars | RRP From: £344,865 |
Cullinan puts the familiar Rolls-Royce sense of calm into a tall, practical SUV, but its real distinction is that it has no true direct rival. Its combination of immense presence, V12 power, rear-seat luxury and genuinely useful family space sits in a category almost entirely of its own. Buyers wanting something similarly luxurious usually have to move downmarket into less exclusive territory, while the only other genuinely exotic V12 SUV is the far sportier Ferrari Purosangue. Even then, the two serve such different purposes that a typical customer could quite reasonably own both.
Spectre (23-)![]() Photo: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars | RRP From: £333,185 |
Spectre pairs the presence of a large luxury coupé with exceptionally quiet electric propulsion. It is designed to make progress feel effortless, with four proper seats and the opportunity to tailor almost every visible surface. The electric powertrain suits Rolls-Royce unusually well, adding near-silent acceleration to a car already built around refinement. It is for buyers who still want to drive themselves, but value comfort, atmosphere and effortless performance above sharp-edged excitement.
Ghost (20-)![]() Photo: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars | RRP From: £289,745 |
Ghost is the Rolls-Royce saloon for owners who are just as likely to take the wheel as settle into the back. It combines a discreetly modern cabin with relaxed V12 performance and remarkable attention to ride comfort. The Extended version favours rear passengers, while Black Badge adds attitude. All offer a highly personal alternative to the more familiar luxury saloons.
Phantom (17-)![]() Photo: Rolls-Royce Motor Cars | RRP From: £440,865 |
Phantom is the most formal expression of Rolls-Royce luxury, with an imposing presence and a cabin designed to shut out the outside world. Its appeal lies in the quality of the experience rather than a list of gadgets. The Extended version gives rear passengers still more room. It is aimed at buyers seeking a particularly personal, unhurried and ceremonial way to travel.
