Porsche Guide
Porsche today is a very different company from the one defined almost entirely by the 911. The sports car still anchors the brand, but SUVs such as the Macan and Cayenne have broadened Porsche's appeal considerably, bringing everyday usability and family practicality alongside the performance expected from the badge.
The shift to electrification is accelerating too. The Taycan established Porsche as a serious EV manufacturer, the Macan is now available as a dedicated electric model, and the Cayenne range has expanded to include petrol, plug-in hybrid and fully electric versions. The modern Porsche range is broader, more practical and more technology-heavy than ever, while still placing driving enjoyment at the centre of the brand.
Current Models
Porsche Macan Electric (24-)![]() | RRP From : £69,865 Powertrains : EV Key rivals : BMW iX3, Genesis Electrified GV70, Maserati Grecale Folgore, Mercedes-Benz GLC EV, Volvo EX60 |
The Macan Electric brings Porsche's compact SUV formula into the EV era without dramatically changing what buyers already liked about the original. A spacious cabin, refined ride and electric range approaching 400 miles in its most efficient form are paired with sharp styling and everyday practicality, while more powerful versions retain the performance expected from a Porsche.
Porsche Cayenne (23-)![]() | RRP From : £83,205 Powertrains : Petrol, PHEV, EV Key rivals : Audi Q8, BMW X5, Land Rover Range Rover Sport, Mercedes-Benz GLE, Volvo XC90 |
The Cayenne remains one of Porsche's most important family SUVs, combining luxury, performance and genuine practicality in a way few rivals can match. Petrol and plug-in hybrid versions continue alongside the new Cayenne Electric, which brings up to 1,156PS in Turbo form and more than 400 miles of range in selected versions. The result is now one of the broadest powertrain choices anywhere in Porsche's range.
Porsche Taycan (20-)![]() | RRP From : £88,465 Powertrains : EV Key rivals : Audi e-tron GT, BMW i5, Lotus Emeya, MG IM5, Polestar 5 |
The Taycan was Porsche's first dedicated electric model, combining four-door practicality with 800-volt electrical architecture, rapid charging and genuine sports-car performance. Continuous improvements have brought considerably longer range and faster charging since launch. Heavy depreciation also makes earlier examples particularly compelling on the used market, putting one of Porsche's most technologically advanced cars within reach of buyers spending a fraction of its original price.
Porsche Panamera (24-)![]() | RRP From : £94,575 Powertrains : Petrol, PHEV Key rivals : Audi A7, BMW 5-Series, Lexus ES, Mercedes E-Class, Polestar 5 |
The Porsche Panamera occupies a unique position, combining the comfort of a luxury saloon with the practicality of a large hatchback and much of the driving character associated with Porsche's sports cars. Petrol and long-range plug-in hybrid versions give buyers plenty of choice, while increasingly powerful electrified models make the Panamera one of the most convincing performance hybrids in the premium market.
Porsche 911 (19-)![]() | RRP From : £110,105 Powertrains : Petrol, Hybrid Key rivals : Aston Martin Vantage, BMW M4, Chevrolet Corvette, Mercedes-AMG GT, MG Cyberster |
The modern 911 offers one of the broadest sports car line-ups on sale, ranging from everyday Carrera models to extreme GT derivatives and the electrified T-Hybrid GTS. While still exceptionally rewarding to drive, it has become increasingly refined and usable over the years, offering occasional rear seats, useful front luggage space and enough comfort to make daily driving or long-distance touring entirely realistic.
