McLaren Guide
McLaren is a British supercar maker with its road-car operation based in Woking, Surrey. Its identity grew from motorsport, but the modern showroom range is built around road-going two-seaters with carbon-fibre structures, mid-mounted engines and an emphasis on driving involvement. UK buyers are served by specialist authorised retailers, with extensive personalisation available through McLaren Special Operations.
Artura introduces plug-in hybrid power, while the 750S and GTS retain twin-turbocharged V8 engines. The GTS is the more relaxed long-distance choice, while the 750S sits at the sharper end of the range with a stronger focus on outright performance and driver involvement. Across all three, low weight, carbon-fibre construction and a clear sense of purpose remain central to McLaren’s identity.
Current Models

Artura is the most approachable route into McLaren’s core supercar range, combining a compact cockpit and precise responses with the option of quiet electric running. The Spider adds open-air appeal without changing the basic brief. It suits an owner who wants something more exotic than a conventional sports coupe, with enough flexibility for a weekend away or an everyday journey.
750S (23-) ![]() Photo: McLaren Automotive | RRP From: £261,805 |
The 750S is the more intense McLaren, with a V8 soundtrack, immediate responses and a cabin that keeps the driver at the centre of things. Its supple suspension also gives it more breadth than the dramatic appearance suggests. Coupe and retractable-hardtop Spider versions offer different kinds of theatre. It is aimed at buyers who will enjoy the journey itself.
GTS (24-)![]() Photo: McLaren Automotive | RRP From: £179,260 |
The GTS gives McLaren’s mid-engined formula a more touring-friendly emphasis. A useful luggage area behind the seats joins the front compartment, and the cabin has a less single-minded atmosphere than the harder-edged models. It remains a low, dramatic two-seater rather than a traditional four-seat grand tourer. It suits couples who want to travel light and make the drive memorable.
W1 (26-)![]() Photo: McLaren Automotive | RRP From: £2 million |
The W1 sits at the top of McLaren’s road-car range, continuing the lineage established by the F1 and later P1. Its 1,258 bhp hybrid powertrain combines enormous performance with an unusually strong focus on low weight and aerodynamic technology. Limited to 399 examples, all allocated before production, it is less a conventional range flagship than a demonstration of how far McLaren can push its road-car philosophy.
