Iveco Van Guide

IVECO has spent more than five decades building commercial vehicles, developing a reputation for particularly robust engineering and an ability to tackle demanding transport work. Unlike many competitors, the Italian manufacturer concentrates almost entirely on commercial vehicles, ranging from relatively compact vans to some of Europe's largest trucks.

Today's van range is centred around the exceptionally versatile Daily, available with diesel, compressed natural gas and electric powertrains. For 2026, the company has also introduced the medium-sized eJolly and larger eSuperJolly, extending its electric offering through a new partnership with Stellantis. Together, these vehicles give IVECO a particularly broad choice of load capacities, body configurations and propulsion technologies.

The IVECO Daily is one of the most substantial conventional vans on the European market, offering an unusual combination of commercial vehicle practicality and truck-derived engineering. The current generation arrived in 2014, with major updates in 2019 and 2024 bringing revised technology, improved safety systems and a more modern driving environment.

Unlike most large vans, which use monocoque construction, the Daily retains a separate ladder-frame chassis. This makes it particularly suitable for heavy loads, demanding conversions and intensive commercial work. Rear-wheel drive is standard, while the rugged Daily 4x4 offers additional capability for specialist off-road applications.

The Daily's extraordinary range of body configurations offers panel vans with between 7.3 and 19.6 cubic metres of cargo space, with the longest version reaching 7.7 metres externally. Its maximum load floor length of 5125mm is particularly impressive, while the tallest roof provides 2100mm of internal height.

Diesel buyers can choose between 2.3-litre and 3.0-litre engines, with outputs extending from approximately 114 to 204bhp. The smaller engine offers competitive efficiency for conventional delivery work, while the larger unit is particularly well suited to heavier applications. A six-speed manual gearbox is available, alongside IVECO's excellent eight-speed Hi-Matic automatic transmission.

The Daily also offers a 3.0-litre compressed natural gas engine producing approximately 134bhp, providing an alternative to conventional diesel propulsion for businesses with access to suitable refuelling infrastructure. Meanwhile, the fully electric eDaily retains the same fundamental ladder-frame construction, cargo compartment and rear-wheel-drive layout. Selected versions offer WLTP combined ranges of over 200 miles.

The electric powertrain produces up to 188bhp and 400Nm of torque, while the ability to tow up to 3500kg on selected versions is particularly unusual among electric vans. The Daily is not the lightest, cheapest or most car-like large van, but its combination of substantial carrying capacity, strong engines, versatile engineering and a genuinely enormous load area makes it exceptionally capable. For businesses prioritising durability and heavy-duty practicality, it remains one of the most distinctive commercial vehicles available.

The eJolly is an important new addition to IVECO's commercial vehicle range, marking the manufacturer's entry into the conventional medium-sized electric van segment. Introduced in 2026, it was developed through a new partnership with Stellantis, sharing its fundamental platform and electric powertrain with the Fiat E-Scudo.

Available in two body lengths, the eJolly provides between 5.3 and 6.6 cubic metres of cargo space. Its relatively low roof makes it particularly useful for businesses operating in urban environments. Sliding side doors, wide rear openings and a practical load-through bulkhead further improve its everyday usability.

Power comes from a 100kW electric motor producing approximately 134bhp and 260Nm of torque. Buyers can choose between 49kWh and 75kWh battery packs, with WLTP ranges of approximately 139 and 218 miles respectively. Rapid DC charging at up to 100kW allows approximately 62 miles of additional range to be recovered in around 15 minutes.

Payload capacity is another particularly interesting feature. Depending on battery size and gross vehicle weight, selected versions can carry more than 1.2 tonnes, while the practical, square load area remains competitive with conventional medium-sized diesel vans. A 400V electric power take-off system also allows the eJolly to support specialist equipment, including refrigeration units and mobile workshop installations.

The eJolly is particularly interesting because it fills a significant gap beneath the larger eDaily. For businesses requiring an electric van capable of carrying useful loads without the weight or cost of a heavy-duty ladder-frame vehicle, it provides IVECO with a considerably more accessible offering.

The eSuperJolly is IVECO's new large electric van, introduced in 2026 to provide a more conventional alternative to the heavy-duty eDaily. Developed through the manufacturer's partnership with Stellantis, four panel-van configurations are available, providing cargo capacities from 13 to 17 cubic metres. The largest L4H3 version measures more than 6.3 metres in length, making it particularly suitable for businesses carrying large quantities of goods, furniture or bulky equipment.

One of the biggest differences between the eSuperJolly and eDaily is their underlying construction. While the eDaily uses a separate ladder-frame chassis and rear-wheel drive, the eSuperJolly employs a front-wheel-drive layout with an integrated body structure. This provides a lower load floor and helps reduce vehicle weight, although it is less suited to some particularly demanding specialist applications.

The eSuperJolly uses a 110kWh battery and a 205kW electric motor producing approximately 275bhp and 410Nm of torque. IVECO quotes up to 263 miles of WLTP range while rapid DC charging at up to 150kW allows the battery to recharge from 10 to 80% in approximately 55 minutes.

Like its smaller eJolly sibling, the eSuperJolly benefits from IVECO's commercial vehicle support network and offers modern driver assistance equipment, a digital dashboard and practical interior storage. Its electric powertrain and substantial cargo space make it particularly appealing for businesses operating large delivery vehicles on predictable routes.

For operators requiring maximum load volume from a conventional electric large van, the eSuperJolly provides an alternative to IVECO's more truck-like eDaily, extending the manufacturer's electric range into a broader part of the commercial vehicle market.
