Isuzu Guide
Isuzu is a Japanese manufacturer best known in Britain for pickups rather than conventional family cars. Its history is rooted in commercial vehicles and diesel engineering, and the D-Max is the focus of its UK showroom range.
Buyers can choose a straightforward working truck, a better-equipped double cab for mixed business and family use, or the substantially modified Arctic Trucks version for demanding terrain.
Electric power now joins the diesel range, giving businesses another option where regular charging fits the job. Cab size matters as much as trim: extra passenger space usually comes at the expense of load-bed length.
Current Models

The D-Max is a practical pickup with a clear sense of purpose. Utility versions put working space first, while DL20, DL40 and V-Cross trims add comfort for buyers whose truck also handles the school run. Choose the cab around the people and equipment you carry; the most luxurious version is not necessarily the most useful one for your working week.

The electric D-Max is aimed at buyers who still need a working pickup but can plan their day around charging. Full-time four-wheel drive and substantial towing capability are its main attractions. The modest official range and relatively slow rapid charging deserve careful consideration, particularly for long-distance towing. It makes most sense on predictable local routes with dependable charging back at base.
D-Max Arctic Trucks AT35 (22-)![]() | RRP From: £69,634 |
The AT35 takes the D-Max well beyond a cosmetic adventure package. Huge tyres, revised suspension and a wider stance are intended for buyers who regularly tackle difficult ground, with considerable visual presence as a by-product. It remains a useful pickup, but its size and substantial price premium make most sense when the extra off-road ability will genuinely earn its keep.
