Hennessey Guide

Founded in Texas in 1991 by John Hennessey, Hennessey began by modifying existing performance cars before developing some of the world's most powerful road-going machines. The company established an international reputation with extreme upgrades for American sports cars, supercars and pickup trucks, eventually creating its own low-volume hypercars through Hennessey Special Vehicles.

The Venom GT demonstrated its ambitions, while the bespoke Venom F5 took the company into a new category of performance engineering. Today, the Venom F5 family combines a lightweight carbon-fibre structure with an extraordinary twin-turbocharged V8, designed to deliver performance beyond that of almost any conventional production car. Coupe, Roadster and track-focused Revolution versions are joined by the manual F5-M, while the newer Evolution upgrades increase power to 2,031bhp.

Production is limited to no more than 99 Venom F5 examples, with British buyers served through official retailer Hennessey London, operated by H.R. Owen.

The Venom F5 Coupe is Hennessey's first fully bespoke production hypercar, combining a carbon-fibre monocoque with a mid-mounted 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 producing 1,817bhp. Power is delivered exclusively to the rear wheels through a seven-speed automated manual gearbox, while a kerb weight of approximately 1,385kg gives the car an extraordinary power-to-weight ratio. Hennessey originally developed the F5 with a target of exceeding 300mph. The later Evolution package brings upgraded suspension, aerodynamics and up to 2,031bhp.

Hennessey Venom F5 Roadster (22-)

RRP From: c. £2,700,000

Key rivals: Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, Bugatti W16 Mistral, Koenigsegg Jesko, Pagani Utopia Roadster, Rimac Nevera

The Venom F5 Roadster takes the extraordinary performance of the Coupe and adds open-air driving through a removable carbon-fibre roof panel. Its 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 originally produced 1,817bhp, with rear-wheel drive and a seven-speed automated manual transmission retained. The carbon-fibre construction helps minimise the additional weight associated with the open body, while a glass engine cover provides a dramatic view of the Fury V8. Like the Coupe, it can benefit from the 2,031bhp Evolution upgrades.

Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Coupe (23-)

RRP From: c. £2,500,000
Pre Reg From: N/A
Used Price From: N/A

Powertrains: Petrol
Dimensions: 4666 × 1960 × 1131 mm (base F5 specifications)

Key rivals: Aston Martin Valkyrie, Czinger 21C, Ferrari F80, Koenigsegg Jesko Attack, McLaren W1

The Revolution Coupe is Hennessey's circuit-focused interpretation of the Venom F5, replacing some of the standard model's pursuit of ultimate top speed with greater downforce and cornering capability. A prominent adjustable rear wing, larger front splitter, revised diffuser, roof-mounted intake and retuned suspension transform its aerodynamic character, with approximately 363kg of downforce generated at 186mph. The original 1,817bhp V8 remains, although the optional Evolution package increases output to 2,031bhp and introduces further aerodynamic and suspension improvements.

Hennessey Venom F5 Revolution Roadster (23-)

RRP From: c. £2,700,000
Pre Reg From: N/A
Used Price From: N/A

Powertrains: Petrol
Dimensions: Not separately confirmed
Boot: Not officially quoted

Key rivals: Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, Bugatti W16 Mistral, Koenigsegg Jesko, Pagani Utopia Roadster, Rimac Nevera R

The Revolution Roadster combines the open-air experience of the Venom F5 Roadster with the more aggressive aerodynamic development of the Revolution Coupe. Its removable carbon-fibre roof weighs approximately 8kg, while an enormous rear wing, extended front splitter and revised suspension focus on generating grip at circuit speeds. The original specification uses Hennessey's 1,817bhp twin-turbocharged V8, sending power to the rear wheels through an automated manual gearbox.

Hennessey Venom F5-M Roadster (26-)

RRP From: c. £2,400,000
Pre Reg From: N/A
Used Price From: N/A

Powertrains: Petrol
Dimensions: Not separately confirmed
Boot: Not officially quoted

Key rivals: Aston Martin Valkyrie Spider, Gordon Murray Automotive T.50s, Koenigsegg CC850, Pagani Utopia Roadster, Zenvo Aurora

The Venom F5-M Roadster introduces a particularly unusual combination of extreme performance and traditional driver involvement, replacing the automated transmission with a six-speed gated manual gearbox. Its 6.6-litre twin-turbocharged V8 produces an extraordinary 2,031bhp, making it one of the most powerful manual road cars ever developed. A revised carbon-fibre chassis, distinctive 55-inch dorsal fin and extensively redesigned cockpit distinguish it from other F5 versions, with the exposed metal gear selector forming the centrepiece of the interior.

Specifications, dimensions and prices were correct at the time of the latest update. Recommended retail prices include any applicable UK Government electric vehicle grant where available but exclude dealer discounts, manufacturer incentives and other retail offers.

Dimensions quote vehicle width excluding exterior mirrors unless otherwise stated. Boot capacities are measured or quoted up to the parcel shelf/load cover where applicable, rather than to the roof. For seven-seat vehicles, the listed boot capacity refers to space behind the third row with all seats in use unless otherwise stated.

Power outputs are quoted in bhp, with manufacturers' kW, PS or CV figures converted where necessary. Electric driving ranges use WLTP combined figures where available.
