Dodge Guide
Founded in 1900 by brothers John and Horace Dodge, Dodge became one of America's most recognisable automotive names, developing a reputation for robust engineering, muscular styling and powerful engines. Although the company has produced everything from affordable family cars to commercial vehicles, its modern identity is closely associated with American muscle cars, particularly the Charger and Challenger, alongside high-performance SUVs such as the Durango.
Today, Dodge is entering a new era with the latest Charger, which replaces the familiar V8 formula with a choice of twin-turbocharged six-cylinder petrol engines or fully electric power. The long-running Durango continues to offer traditional American SUV practicality and powerful V8 options.
British buyers can now order the new Charger through an official UK retail network supported by European importer KW Automotive, although vehicles remain left-hand drive. The Durango is also represented by specialist UK distributors.
Current Models
Dodge Charger Sixpack (26-)![]() | RRP From: £70,000 |
The latest Charger Sixpack introduces a 3.0-litre twin-turbocharged straight-six engine producing 420bhp in R/T form or 550bhp in the more powerful Scat Pack. Both versions use an eight-speed automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive, with the ability to direct power to the rear wheels for a more traditional muscle-car experience. Despite its dramatic coupe-like proportions, the Charger features a large rear hatch, five seats and a particularly generous luggage compartment. British prices start at £70,000, rising to £76,000 for the Scat Pack, with two-door versions initially offered and four-door models available through special order.
Dodge Charger Daytona (24-)![]() | RRP From: POA (UK special order) |
The Charger Daytona brings Dodge's muscle-car identity into the electric era, retaining the imposing proportions of its petrol sibling while replacing the combustion engine with a dual-motor electric powertrain. The R/T develops up to 536bhp, while the more powerful Scat Pack reaches 670bhp using its temporary PowerShot boost function, enabling acceleration from 0ā60mph in 3.3 seconds. An unusual artificial exhaust system attempts to reproduce some of the character of Dodge's traditional V8 engines, while the large battery and spacious five-seat hatchback body provide everyday usability.Ā
Dodge Durango (11-)![]() | RRP From: POA (UK distributor) |
The Durango is a large, traditional American SUV that combines up to seven seats with substantial towing ability and unusually powerful petrol engines. Now well into its third generation, it remains available with a 3.6-litre V6 in selected versions, alongside 5.7-litre HEMI V8 power and the extraordinary supercharged 6.2-litre V8 found in the SRT Hellcat. The latter produces 710bhp, making the Durango one of the most powerful family SUVs available. Despite its performance emphasis, it offers a practical three-row cabin, approximately 487 litres of luggage space with all seven seats in use and up to 2,410 litres with the rear seats folded.Ā
