Changan Guide
Changan is a major Chinese vehicle manufacturer whose UK passenger-car business launched in 2025. Its British range uses the Deepal name and concentrates on family SUVs, combining electric power with generous standard equipment and a technology-led cabin.
The company also has a research and development presence in Birmingham and a design centre in Turin, so its European operation predates the arrival of its cars in British showrooms.
Sales and servicing are handled through a growing UK dealer network. The smaller S05 sits beneath the S07, with a plug-in hybrid S05 now joining the electric offering. Denza is covered separately below.
Current Models
Deepal S05 (26-)![]() Photo: Changan | RRP From: Β£37,990 |
The S05 aims to make an electric family SUV feel generously equipped without stepping into a premium badge. Rear-seat space and useful luggage compartments suit everyday family duties, while the prominent touchscreen and reclining passenger seat give it a distinctive cabin. It is worth trying the controls on a test drive. The new plug-in version broadens the choice for regular longer trips.
Deepal S07 (25-)![]() | RRP From: Β£39,990 |
The S07 is the larger, more lounge-like choice in Changanβs British range. A spacious cabin, panoramic roof and generous equipment list give it plenty of showroom appeal, particularly for families moving into their first electric SUV. The emphasis is on comfort and convenience rather than a sporty badge. Check that its screen-based controls and charging performance suit your normal routine.
Specifications, dimensions and prices were correct at the time of the latest update. Recommended retail prices are official UK list prices, while pre-registered and used values are approximate UK market figures and may vary depending on specification, mileage, condition and location. Recommended retail prices include any applicable UK Government electric vehicle grant where available but exclude dealer discounts, manufacturer incentives and other retail offers.
Dimensions quote vehicle width excluding exterior mirrors unless otherwise stated. Boot capacities are measured or quoted up to the parcel shelf/load cover where applicable, rather than to the roof. For seven-seat vehicles, the listed boot capacity refers to space behind the third row with all seats in use unless otherwise stated.
Power outputs are quoted in bhp, with manufacturers' kW, PS or CV figures converted where necessary. Electric driving ranges use WLTP combined figures where available.
Unless otherwise stated, vehicle images are manufacturer press photographs provided by Changan and remain the copyright of their respective owners.
