Brabus Guide
Founded in Germany in 1977 by Bodo Buschmann and Klaus Brackmann, Brabus has grown from a specialist Mercedes-Benz tuner into one of the world's most ambitious luxury performance companies. Its reputation was built on extraordinarily powerful engines, elaborate interior craftsmanship and heavily modified Mercedes models.
Alongside these conversions, Brabus has developed a smaller collection of highly individual vehicles featuring extensive bespoke bodywork and engineering. These include the carbon-bodied BODO grand tourers, extraordinary Rocket shooting brakes and convertibles, and six-wheel-drive off-road machines.
While many retain the underlying engineering of established manufacturers, their appearance and construction go considerably beyond conventional tuning. This guide concentrates on those distinctive, dedicated Brabus projects rather than the company's wider range of modified Mercedes-Benz and other production models.

The BODO represents a new direction for Brabus, transforming the foundations of the Aston Martin Vanquish into a dramatically different luxury grand tourer. Introduced in August 2026, the BODO Cabriolet brings open-air motoring to Brabus's most ambitious grand tourer. It shares the coupé's 1,000PS V12, bespoke carbon-fibre bodywork and 224mph electronically limited top speed, but replaces the fixed roof with an electrically operated fabric hood. The Cabriolet has its own 77-car production allocation, while the four-seat configuration gives it considerably greater versatility than many exotic convertibles.
Brabus Rocket GTS (24–)![]() | RRP From : c. £800,000 Powertrains : PHEV Key rivals : Aston Martin Vanquish, Denza Z9 GT, Ferrari 12Cilindri, Lotus Emira, Mercedes-AMG GT |
The Rocket GTS is among Brabus's most distinctive modern creations, transforming the Mercedes-AMG SL's underlying platform into an extraordinary carbon-fibre shooting brake. Its dramatically extended roofline and new rear bodywork create an unusual combination of supercar performance and grand touring practicality. The plug-in hybrid drivetrain combines a heavily modified 4.5-litre twin-turbo V8 with an electric motor, delivering 1,000PS and enough performance to reach 62mph in just 2.6 seconds.
Brabus Rocket GTC (25–)![]() | RRP From : c. £700,000 Powertrains : PHEV Key rivals : Aston Martin Vanquish Volante, Bentley Continental GTC, Ferrari 12Cilindri Spider, Maserati GranCabrio, Mercedes-AMG SL |
The Rocket GTC is the open-top counterpart to the Rocket GTS, sharing its enormous 1,000PS hybrid powertrain but exchanging the shooting-brake roofline for a dramatic cabriolet silhouette. Its extensively redesigned carbon-fibre bodywork gives it a wider, more aggressive appearance than the Mercedes-AMG SL from which the project originates.
Brabus XLP 800 6x6 Adventure (25–)![]() | RRP From : c. £1,150,000 Powertrains : Petrol Key rivals : INEOS Grenadier Quartermaster, Land Rover Defender OCTA, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Rolls-Royce Cullinan, Toyota Land Cruiser |
Few vehicles demonstrate Brabus's engineering ambitions like the XLP 800 6x6 Adventure. Based on the Mercedes-AMG G 63, it features three driven axles, a substantial pick-up bed and specialised portal-axle suspension. Measuring over 6.1 metres long, it combines extreme off-road capability with Brabus luxury. Its 800PS twin-turbo V8 delivers remarkable performance despite weighing around 3.7 tonnes unladen. Options include roof-mounted lighting, recovery equipment and bespoke interiors. With a gross vehicle weight of 4,500kg, British driving-licence and registration requirements need careful consideration.
Brabus 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio (26–)![]() | RRP From : c. £850,000 Powertrains : Petrol Key rivals : Bentley Bentayga, INEOS Grenadier, Land Rover Defender OCTA, Mercedes-Benz G-Class, Rolls-Royce Cullinan |
Revealed in September 2026, the 900 Rocket Edition Cabrio transforms the current Mercedes-AMG G 63 into one of the most unusual luxury off-roaders ever produced. Brabus has developed an entirely new folding roof system incorporating more than 500 bespoke components, requiring extensive structural modifications while retaining four doors and the G-Class's imposing shape. The 4.5-litre V8 produces 900PS, giving the open-top SUV a 3.7-second acceleration time to 62mph.
