Abarth Guide
Abarth was founded in 1949 by Carlo Abarth, building its reputation by turning small, lightweight Italian cars into faster and more characterful performance machines. Motorsport, distinctive exhaust notes and compact dimensions became central to the brand, with tuned Fiat models eventually forming the backbone of its road-car range.
More recently, Abarth has begun transitioning from petrol power towards electric performance, retaining its focus on accessible, entertaining cars. The 500e continues the traditional small-car formula, while the larger 600e takes Abarth into practical crossover territory, adding five-door family usability without abandoning the aggressive styling and performance focus associated with the badge.

The 500e keeps the city-car proportions that make an Abarth feel so different from a conventional hot hatch. Its 153 bhp motor delivers 0–62mph in seven seconds, while the UK specification includes a sound generator for buyers who want some theatre to accompany the electric powertrain. The 500e C adds open-air appeal without changing the basic four-seat layout. Compact dimensions and increasingly accessible used prices make it an unusual alternative to larger electric hot hatches.

The 600e brings Abarth performance to a much more practical five-door body. Developed with Stellantis Motorsport, it combines a mechanical limited-slip differential, uprated brakes and a more focused chassis with space for family duties. The current Turismo and Competizione trims replace the original base model and Scorpionissima launch edition. Turismo reaches 62mph in 6.24 seconds; the 276 bhp Competizione cuts that to 5.85 seconds and adds Sabelt racing seats and more equipment.
